Laboratory for production and operations management
Since 1978, Laboratory has been working at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Maribor, first as a Laboratory for Work Studies, which in 1987, due to the scope of activities, grew in today's Laboratory for Production and Operations Management. Laboratory activities include pedagogical work at all levels of study and theoretical and user-oriented research work for institutions and industry. The main field of activity is product management (product development, work studies, ergonomics, capacity planning, layout planing, inventory management, quality management, maintenance, supply chain management, lean manufacturing, costs, business process reengineering, etc.) with emphasis on the following topics: time management, ergonomic workplace design, process planning and control, production management, project management, reliability planning of production processes, knowledge management and innovation management, discrete process simulations, service management.
In the laboratory, we use equipment that includes a total of 25 personal computers and laptops, a smart board with a video projector, a multifunction A3 laser printer, a scanner and a copier, a colour A3 laser printer, a 40" LED TV, Blu-ray player, DVD and VHS player, DRIGUS Multidata recorder, virtual reality equipment: Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest 2 and Samsung Gear 360, measuring equipment: stopwatchs (analogue and digital), noise, humidity, temperature, wind, lighting, etc. software: Siemens PLM Software package, Autodesk Factory Design Suite, simulators (SIMIO, ARENA , SIMUL8, SIMFACTORY, Plant Simulation), specialized programs (MAXIMO, Strategic Planner, Expert Choice, GoSoft-MRP, LEKIN, Cost-Time Profiler, etc.).
